Choosing Composite Reinforcements for Impact Strength
In this fourth of five video tutorials as part of the Dark Ice Project we compare Kevlar, Diolen, Innegra and carbon fibre reinforcement and their suitability for a project requiring high impact strength as well as the effect of low temperatures on their mechanical properties.
We also look at friction coefficients of different gelcoats and assess the effectiveness of adding graphite powder to gelcoat to reduce friction.
