High performance, 38 micron release shrink tape for composites use.
This composites shrink tape will contract by up to 5% when heated to up to 130°C using a heat gun, hot hair-dryer or when placed in an oven. The tape is release coated on one side ensuring that it will not stick to the resin of the part allowing it to be easily removed once the part has cured. The release coated side is the inside of the tape as unwound from the roll
This is the same shrink-tape that is used in our fishing pole repair kit and it is ideal for any manufacture or repair process where you need to consolidate a laminate with considerable and evenly distributed pressure.
Typical Uses
The consolidation tape is ideally suited to:
Advantages
How to Buy
The tape is available in three roll lengths; 10m and 50m and 250m and also in two different widths; 25mm and 50mm. Choose the length and width of roll that you require from the drop-down lists above.

Yes when wrapping you want an overlap of around one third to half of the width of the tape to ensure full coverage and even consolidation.
I'm afraid we don't have more than the published information about the heat/shrink behaviour of the tape. In terms of the temperature range of utilisation, the tape can be used from ambient (20°C) to 130°C, although the heat shrink behaviour will only occur at elevated temperature.
At 130°C the shrinkage of the tape is known to be 4-5% (longitudinal direction) and 1% (transverse direction). Although this shrinkage will start from a lower temperature, unfortunately, the manufacturer is unable to provide additional values for percentage shrinkage at lower temperatures.
No, the shrink tape is usually damaged and also shrunk permanently by the heat so cannot be reused.
