This exhaust silencer fits directly to the 1/2 Inch BSP exhaust port on the EC20 industrial vacuum pump. This fitting both reduces the exhaust noise from the pump and protects the port from dirt and dust ingress.
In fixed vacuum pump installations it is not uncommon for the exhaust to be vented via pipework to out-side, in these cases either this silencer or another form of filter is still recommended to prevent debris entering the pump when not in operation.
Although PTFE can be used for installation is is not necessary as an airtight connection is not required.
